Weymouth Beach – Golden Sands, Sunrises & Seaside Charm

Whether you’re an early bird or a sunset chaser, Weymouth Beach never disappoints. With its wide stretch of golden sand and safe, shallow waters, it’s perfect for a refreshing dip, paddling, or just relaxing with an ice cream in hand. The sunrises here are simply magical – often accompanied by the gentle rhythm of the waves and a few fellow walkers enjoying the peace.

Early morning walks along the beach are one of our favourite ways to start the day – peaceful, invigorating, and often with a chance of spotting the odd paddleboarder or swimmer out enjoying the calm. A little further along the promenade, you’ll find Greenhill Gardens, a beautifully kept space full of vibrant flowers, palm trees and colourful borders – a real local treasure.

On Sundays in the summer, the gardens come alive with free live music from the bandstand – it’s the perfect setting to sit back, soak up the sun and enjoy some seaside tunes.

In the summer months, keep an eye (and an ear) out for The Leggomen – a brilliant local band who regularly perform on the beach, bringing great music and a relaxed, festival-style vibe to sunny afternoons and evenings.

Weymouth’s Esplanade is bustling with life, lined with family-run cafés, seaside bars, cocktail spots and traditional eateries. Whether you fancy classic fish and chips, a beachside cocktail, or dinner before a show, there’s something for every taste. For entertainment, the Weymouth Pavilion offers everything from live music and theatre to comedy and tribute acts – check their listings while you’re in town!

Weymouth Beach really does offer the best of everything: sun, sea, scenery and a warm community vibe. It’s no wonder so many of our guests fall in love with it.
